Travel Garment Bag

5 PART DESIGN: GARMENT BAG, PACKING BAG, 2 SHIRT HANGERS, 1 SUIT HANGER

Designed and crafted a compact, affordable garment bag and expandable hangers to improve the transport of business clothes.

The bag and hangers provide a system to pack clothes quickly and neatly to prevent wrinkles during travel.

STORAGE - FUNCTIONAL DESIGN

The bag consists of seven compartments: two main compartments, an elasticized pocket, three zippered pockets, and a suit compartment.

The outer suit compartment doubles as a standalone bag and can be removed and used separately.

GRAPHICS - DESIGN & PLACEMENT

Vinyl printed icons accent the bag and indicate the location of the accessory, clothing, and suit compartments.

Additional icons printed on the hangers instruct the user on how to fold and hang the clothing.

USAGE - WORKING PROTOTYPE

The small hanger allows the user to simply pull the hook upwards causing the hanger arms to swing outwards to fill the shoulders of the shirt.

The large hanger also includes an extendable hook and can hold a suit jacket and pants.

CONCLUSION - DESIGN IMPACT

The travel garment bag packing and hanging system is perfect for those that travel frequently. Each component was thoroughly considered and makes it a great option for short business trips or as an accessory to longer trips.
